THE ALTARPIECE OF LIGHT

From time to time we get into projects where the personal and the professional mix and that means extra involvement.
In Grañón, a small town in La Rioja, crossed by the Camino de Santiago, a spectacular altarpiece was built in the 16th century.

The Association of Friends of Carrasquedo with the support of the Government of La Rioja has presented “The altarpiece of light” an immersive project where we have been able to freely experiment with 3D lights and shadows, test and retest colors and textures, bring sculptures to life through movements and improve the mapping techniques that we have been using for years for brand and institutional projects.

'The altarpiece of light' is an immersive experience, a show designed to immerse the public in a multisensory projection using the latest technologies in videomapping, photogrammetry, 3D modeling, generation of particles and fluids that come to life and illuminate the altarpiece and animation of the figures of the altarpiece and the architecture of the building. Surround sound, narration, music and sound effects contribute to a feeling of total immersion making viewers feel “inside” and completely immersed in the environment and narrative of the show.

Bringing to life a Renaissance altarpiece with all those sculptures covered in gilding, paint and wood has been quite a challenge.
